Redis is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join its Field Engineering team, reporting to the CTO. This role sits at the intersection of Redis products and customers' most complex technical challenges, operating at the edge of what's currently possible.
You will embed with strategic, highly technical customer deals to unblock and enable technical solutions. Your responsibilities include:
- Join strategic deals where customer requirements push Redis capabilities to their limits, building proof points that drive technical wins
- Carry engagements through to delivery within customer environments, hardening systems until customer engineers can own and operate them independently
- Identify hard problems proactively—spot where customers are stuck, propose solutions, and build them
- Map account opportunities: projects that reduce costs, improve performance, or grow revenue
- Design and build AI agent solutions on Redis Iris, integrating Agent Memory, Context Retriever, Data Integration, and LangCache
- Design and maintain CDC and streaming data integration using RIOT-X, Redis Kafka Connect, or Snowflake collectors
- Advise on advanced search, scalability, and production deployment architecture
- Support custom library and client integration work (Redis Spring OM, RIOT-X, Terracotta)
- Build production observability and automation: custom exporters, Datadog/Dynatrace integrations
- Develop reusable tools, connectors, and libraries that unblock customer use cases
- Mentor peers and contribute reusable assets (Terraform templates, dashboards, sample repos)
- Feed learnings back into the product through design proposals, architecture docs, and PRs
Required experience: Deep Redis expertise or ability to ramp quickly; strong proficiency in Java, Python, Rust, or Golang with agentic coding tools; genuine eagerness for customer-embedded work; self-directed builder mindset; comfort with complex, ambiguous problems spanning systems/domains; track record building trust and leading through influence; familiarity with AI agent architecture; hands-on CDC/streaming integration experience; strong engineering fundamentals (Git, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms); Redis internals knowledge; infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD experience; prior customer-embedded technical role (consulting, professional services, pre-sales, solutions engineering).
