Veeam Software is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical owner for complex, strategic customer accounts. This is a hands-on senior role where you will lead technical delivery, solution architecture, and deep integrations for enterprise customers managing data resilience and security across hybrid cloud, on-premises, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
You will own the full customer lifecycle from deployment through scaled operational use, working directly with customer executives, security leaders, and technical teams to translate complex data, security, privacy, and AI requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning technical delivery for the most complex customer accounts from deployment through everyday scaled use
- Leading deployments across hybrid environments (cloud, on-premises, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and related infrastructure)
- Defining solution architecture for customers with complex data estates and security needs
- Adapting platform behavior when standard configuration does not fully match customer workflows or risk models
- Building and operating integrations across customer systems (identity, SIEM, ITSM, data platforms, APIs, downstream tools)
- Diagnosing and resolving deep technical issues across data, deployment, infrastructure, and integration layers
- Building reusable agents, automations, tools, and playbooks to help the broader Forward Deployed Engineering team deliver faster and with higher quality
- Converting manual customer outcomes into repeatable workflows for remediation, alerting, reporting, and operational follow-up
- Leading architecture and design sessions with customer executives, security and privacy leaders, business teams, and engineers
- Mentoring other FDEs by reviewing solutions, sharing patterns, and helping unblock complex technical work
- Partnering with Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering on strategic POCs, customer escalations, and product feedback from the field
You will work in a distributed, fast-paced environment where you influence product direction and help shape how Veeam's platform scales to meet enterprise customer needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, or solutions engineering roles
- Deep hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and Linux systems administration
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar)
- Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery
- Knowledge of access control, encryption, masking, or other data protection controls in enterprise data systems
- Experience mentoring senior technical contributors or setting delivery standards in fast-paced, distributed teams
