Veeam is the Data and AI Trust Company, helping organizations ensure their data and AI are fully understood, secured, and resilient. As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the technical owner for complex, strategic customer accounts, leading technical approaches in ambiguous situations and helping enterprise customers extract real value from the platform in sophisticated environments.
You will own technical delivery end-to-end—from deployment through scaled, everyday use—working directly with customer executives, security leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams. Your responsibilities include leading deployments across hybrid environments (cloud, on-premises, Kubernetes, containers, Linux); defining solution architecture for customers with complex data estates and security needs; adapting platform behavior when standard configuration doesn't match customer workflows or risk models; building and operating integrations across identity, SIEM, ITSM, data platforms, and APIs; diagnosing and resolving deep technical issues across data, deployment, infrastructure, and integration layers; and creating reusable agents, automations, tools, and playbooks that help the broader Forward Deployed Engineering team move faster and deliver consistently.
You will also turn manual customer outcomes into repeatable workflows for remediation, alerting, reporting, and operational follow-up; lead architecture and design sessions with customer executives and engineering teams; mentor other FDEs by reviewing solutions and sharing patterns; and partner with Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering on strategic POCs, escalations, and product feedback from the field.
This is a hands-on senior role requiring strong customer presence, high ownership, and the ability to bring structure to complex problems without a clear playbook.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8–12+ years of experience in deeply technical, customer-facing roles (forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, platform engineering, or technical consulting)
- Strong software engineering skills in at least one language: Python, Go, or TypeScript; ability to read unfamiliar code and understand complex systems quickly
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Experience deploying and operating solutions across complex cloud, hybrid, and on-premises enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of APIs, system integration, SQL/NoSQL data stores, and structured or unstructured data
- Experience building practical technical solutions: data pipelines, custom classifiers, integrations, automations, agents, or internal tools
- Strong fluency with AI-native developer tools, agents, and automation, including creating reusable workflows
- Working knowledge of data security, privacy, and regulatory topics across industries and geographies
- High ownership, strong critical thinking, and ability to structure complex problems
BONUS SKILLS:
- Experience with DSPM, CSPM, DLP, data governance, privacy platforms, or related security domains
- Experience building or heavily using AI agents, agentic coding assistants, MCP, or RAG systems
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001) across multiple geographies
- Experience with enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
- Knowledge of access control, encryption, masking, or other data protection controls
- Experience mentoring senior technical contributors or setting delivery standards in distributed teams
