Project44 is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join p44LSP.ai, a dedicated AI-native division serving the logistics service provider (LSP) market. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, part of a small, hand-picked team operating across Chicago, San Francisco, Bangalore, and the EU. As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you'll be embedded directly with high-value LSP customers—freight forwarders, brokers, and 3PLs—owning integration architecture, customizing agent workflows, and serving as the ground truth between how LSPs actually operate and how the product team thinks they do. Your primary responsibility is to transform logistics from a reactive service into a programmable network by replacing manual workflows with autonomous agent-to-agent coordination. Key responsibilities include: - Building and deploying integrations with customer systems and APIs - Customizing AI agent workflows to solve real LSP operational challenges - Gathering customer feedback and translating it into product insights that shape the roadmap - Shipping solutions in weeks, not quarters, in a fast-moving startup environment - Collaborating across a flat organizational structure with product, engineering, and customer teams - Leveraging AI coding tools and agents as core parts of your workflow Project44 is a $124M logistics software company with 259K carriers in its network and billions of shipment outcomes. p44LSP.ai is backed by this infrastructure while operating with the speed and focus of an AI startup. The team actively uses AI across all functions and expects engineers to be intelligent, intentional users of AI tools. You'll work with customers who pilot in weeks and provide direct feedback. The role requires strong technical depth, customer empathy, and the ability to operate independently in the field while maintaining alignment with the broader engineering organization.
