Assort Health is building AI agents that create continuous conversations for patients throughout their healthcare journey. The company has grown from 15 people in 2025 to 250+ by end of 2026, with 20x revenue growth in 15 months and $222M raised (including $120M Series C at $1.2B valuation). They've built the largest proprietary specialty dataset in healthcare: 240 million patient interactions, 62,000 care protocols, and 1.6 million decision pathways. As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll own customer deployments end-to-end—from technical scoping through go-live and optimization. You'll be the technical owner for health system implementations, working directly with customers to build, configure, and deploy production AI agents tailored to their workflows. You'll partner with Agent Product Managers who own the customer relationship and project plan, while you drive technical execution. Key responsibilities include shipping production AI agents for health systems, building custom integrations with complex healthcare platforms (EHRs, scheduling systems, patient engagement tools), designing intelligent workflows tailored to each customer's specialty and operational constraints, and launching agents handling thousands of real patient interactions daily. You'll debug integration issues across phone systems, EHRs, and scheduling platforms; architect solutions for healthcare complexity (insurance verification, appointment rules, clinical protocols); build tooling that accelerates future implementations; and optimize agent performance using real-world data. You'll shape the product by partnering with Product Engineering to influence platform direction, identifying patterns that become features, working with Sales on technical scoping and demos, and serving as the voice of the customer. Required: 4+ years software engineering experience with strong track record shipping production code; proficiency in Python; experience with APIs, integrations, and multi-system work; comfort with ambiguity in fast-paced environments; excellent communication skills explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; scrappy, resourceful problem-solving mindset; passion for healthcare and patient access. Nice to have: healthcare systems experience (EHR, practice management, patient engagement); customer-facing engineering or solutions engineering background; voice/telephony systems familiarity (Twilio); AI/LLM applications experience; enterprise customer experience.
