Oura is seeking an experienced Flex DFM (Design for Manufacturing) Engineer to drive world-class manufacturing processes for flex and rigid-flex PCBAs and critical electrical components. You will serve as the interface between R&D, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams, de-risking builds, raising yields, and ensuring suppliers are ready for on-time, quality ramps through EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production. Key responsibilities include executing DFM analysis based on PCB supplier fabrication capabilities and guiding design engineers to optimize PCB layouts. You will maintain specifications, design guidelines, and design rule roadmaps for flexible printed circuits, conduct supplier audits with enhanced quality criteria, and analyze defects to drive improvement activities across the supply chain. You'll hold suppliers accountable through root cause analysis and corrective actions, own collaborative vendor development projects, and qualify manufacturing sites and lines for smooth transitions to production. Required qualifications include 5+ years of hands-on PCB manufacturing or supplier industrialization experience, proven understanding of flex design rules and industry capability levels, and deep SME expertise in flex substrate fabrication. You must have strong knowledge of IPC and JEDEC standards, experience optimizing PCB panel design for material/cost/capacity balance, and technical understanding of drilling, etching, masking, plating, lamination, surface coating, and testing processes. Solid PCBA manufacturing knowledge, demonstrated understanding of cause-and-effect relationships between manufacturing practices and defect modes in flex circuits, and proficiency with industry software (Allegro, Valor, NX, JMP) are essential. Excellent communication skills and collaborative personality are required.
