Salary: USD 191,000 - 253,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Firmware Team develops core embedded systems powering multiple defense platforms including Barracuda, Dive-LD, Altius, and Roadrunner. These systems are built on Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that processes thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control capabilities.
As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will develop low-level embedded software and build comprehensive tests to verify functionality. You'll own the full lifecycle from requirements definition through code implementation and test validation, working directly with electrical engineering teams to solve complex hardware-software integration challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop low-level firmware in C for microcontrollers across multiple product platforms
- Design, develop, and document test procedures that verify firmware behavior against requirements
- Debug and troubleshoot issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Support board bring-up and hardware-firmware integration with cross-functional teams
- Maintain requirements traceability, ensuring every requirement has corresponding verification tests
- Manage concurrent involvement in multiple projects from prototype through production
Required qualifications: BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience; 4+ years firmware/embedded software development; strong C coding for embedded systems; hands-on test procedure development and execution; solid understanding of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging; experience with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet); familiarity with requirements generation and verification linking; excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills; U.S. Person status required for export-controlled access.
Preferred qualifications include microcontroller core experience (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC), high-reliability or safety-critical application development, automated test framework building, requirements management tools (Jama, DOORS), Python scripting for test automation, and prior firmware technical lead experience on fast-paced projects.
