Salary: USD 165,000 - 218,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Tactical Recon & Strike team develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all supporting equipment for testing, deployment, and operations. Products include Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius systems.
As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will develop low-level software and firmware for embedded systems products, creating the firmware layer that underpins all Tactical Recon & Strike products. You will architect system-level features, develop robust microcontroller software, and create reusable device drivers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop high-confidence firmware for microcontrollers with deep product ownership
- Mentor junior engineers and elevate team capability
- Work cross-functionally with electrical, software, and product design teams from prototype through customer deployment
- Identify and deliver improvements at team and program levels
- Coordinate hardware bringup and troubleshoot issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Support test engineering for high-yield production
- Participate in field testing to quantify customer value and identify firmware opportunities
Required: 8+ years embedded systems firmware development, MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent, demonstrated technical leadership and product ownership, extensive microcontroller and sensor integration experience, outstanding C coding ability, software development best practices, IC bus protocol experience (I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet), strong communication skills, and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: microcontroller core implementation experience (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC), CAN peripheral firmware implementation, JTAG/SWD debugging skills, oscilloscope and logic analyzer proficiency, test-driven development for embedded systems, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and firmware DevOps experience.
