NerdWallet seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as the primary finance partner for one or more growth verticals. This role owns forecasting, financial modeling, performance reporting, and KPI analysis, translating complex financial data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include serving as a trusted finance partner to business leaders, owning financial forecasts for assigned business areas with revenue and operating expense projections, and developing financial models to support scenario planning, pricing analyses, and investment decisions. You will prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages with variance analyses and executive summaries, monitor key business and financial performance indicators to identify emerging risks and opportunities, and partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Operations, and other teams to evaluate financial implications of strategic initiatives. The role requires identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and resource allocation through financial analysis, communicating complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders, and continuously improving forecasting methodologies and reporting processes. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related quantitative field, plus 4-6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting, or similar analytical finance roles. You must demonstrate advanced financial modeling and forecasting capabilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience owning budgeting and forecasting processes, and proven ability to influence decisions through data-driven recommendations. Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets, experience with financial reporting systems and BI tools, and demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced environments are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience in high-growth technology or fintech, partnering with Product/Marketing/Growth teams, SQL, Looker, Tableau or similar BI tools, Adaptive Planning or Anaplan platforms, and demonstrated process improvement through automation. The role is fully remote, based in the US, and reports to the Staff Finance level.
