As Senior Financial Analyst on the FP&A team, you will own R&D finance end-to-end, serving as the embedded finance partner to Engineering and Product leadership. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on building financial discipline around R&D at a scaling hardware-SaaS hybrid company.
Key responsibilities include: building and owning the forecasting and budgeting process for R&D and product development spend, replacing ad hoc estimates with repeatable, driver-based models; serving as the trusted finance partner translating roadmap and headcount decisions into financial impact; leading ROI and capacity planning analysis for R&D investments; establishing forecasts and tracking for software and product development costs; building headcount and hiring plans for Engineering and Product; and leading high-priority, cross-functional special projects (margin expansion, unit economics, pricing, profitability studies) at the CFO and President level.
You will participate in strategic analyses on compressed timelines with direct executive visibility, partner across Engineering, Product, Operations, and Supply Chain, and influence spend decisions before they become budget problems.
Ideal candidate has 4-7+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance with real ownership of a budget or spend area end-to-end. You understand R&D finance fluency including capitalized vs. expensed costs, and have experience with both hardware COGS structures and recurring-revenue SaaS models. You build trusted relationships with technical leaders and hold your own in rooms with VPs and above.
