Cognite is seeking a Senior Field Engineer for a pre-sales/forward-deployed role based in Houston with remote flexibility. You will partner with Account Executives to drive technical strategy for complex enterprise engagements, moving clients from high-level strategy to live, functioning AI and data solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
**Client Engagement & Solution Delivery**: Act as the technical lead for strategic opportunities, guiding clients through fast AI prototyping using Cognite Atlas AI and Cognite Data Fusion. You'll translate business requirements into deliverable use cases and build executive confidence through demos and reference architectures.
**Agentic AI Solution Development**: Design and implement first-of-their-kind industrial AI agents using the Atlas AI workbench. You'll leverage the Industrial Knowledge Graph to automate complex workflows, ensuring solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and grounded in contextualized data.
**Technical Leadership & Use Case Design**: Lead workshops and briefings to translate functional and non-functional requirements into high-level use cases. You'll demonstrate ROI of Industrial AI through client-focused presentations and architectural guidance.
**Product Bridge & Field Innovation**: Act as the critical link between field deployments and Cognite's Product organization. Translate deployment learnings and field friction into actionable product requirements and scalable best practices.
**Required Qualifications**:
- 3+ years in forward-deployed engineering or pre-sales engineering roles, ideally in enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, or industrial software
- Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Machine Learning preferred)
- Proficiency in Python and deep understanding of GenAI landscape (embeddings, RAG, prompt chaining)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed
