Planned is an AI Event Intelligence Platform that helps enterprises source, manage, and pay for meetings and events. The company is disrupting a $500+ billion industry by automating work that traditionally required entire teams and agencies. As Senior Event Manager, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex corporate events for Planned's largest enterprise clients, including some of the world's most recognizable global brands. This role requires someone with proven experience running corporate events at scale who can operate independently with minimal oversight. Key responsibilities include: - Managing a high volume of client events from intake through post-event reconciliation, serving as a senior industry expert - Translating ambiguous or incomplete client briefs into clear scopes, realistic budgets, and defensible venue and vendor recommendations - Sourcing and negotiating with venues and suppliers on room blocks, F&B minimums, attrition and cancellation clauses, AV, and BEOs while protecting both client budget and company margin - Anticipating and resolving risks before they reach clients (supplier issues, date changes, headcount swings, permitting and compliance) - Acting as a bridge between client experience and product teams, surfacing friction patterns and helping improve playbooks and templates Required qualifications: - 5+ years managing corporate or enterprise events end-to-end, ideally including programs of 100+ attendees with six-figure budgets - Demonstrated venue and vendor negotiation experience with contract review and leverage understanding - Sound commercial judgment balancing client experience against budget and margin - Ability to manage high volume of complex events without losing detail in fast-paced environments - Comfort in tech-forward environments and quick adoption of new tools, including AI - Availability to cover west coast hours (approximately 12pm-8pm ET) to serve major SF-based clients - Commitment to five days per week in-office in Montreal The company offers competitive base pay, unlimited PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, bus pass subsidy or parking, stocked office snacks and lunches twice weekly, dog-friendly office, and relocation support if needed.
