Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer to join the Manufacturing Technology Maritime Team in Santa Ana, California. This role focuses on designing and developing next-generation manufacturing equipment, tooling, and factory layouts to support the rapid production of cutting-edge maritime defense vehicles. You will be responsible for designing factory layouts and discrete equipment systems that incorporate advanced movement, holding, and processing technologies. Using digital thread, CAD, simulation, and computer graphics, you'll enable lean manufacturing principles while optimizing production flow, space allocation, and resource requirements across multiple programs. Your work will directly support the development and scaling of deployable maritime vehicles in Anduril's new manufacturing facilities. Key responsibilities include: - Design and create factory layouts using digital tools and simulation to support lean manufacturing and integrated metrology - Question and refine production system requirements to ensure cost- and schedule-effective solutions - Support design, development, construction, commissioning, and start-up of production systems at new factory sites - Provide hands-on support for product manufacturing processes, material flow optimization, and new technology integration - Lead by example and expedite project completion through direct involvement - Drive cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing technology, product design, operations, facilities, ES&H, finance, and external vendors You bring 8+ years of experience designing tools, tooling, equipment, and processes for manufacturing technology development, simulation modeling, and production engineering. You have hands-on experience in large-scale manufacturing environments and the ability to work directly with operations and manufacturing engineering teams. Preferred experience includes work with architecture and infrastructure partners, process improvement and ROI justification, lean manufacturing principles, automation development, and facility design for large-scale production systems. This is a U.S. Person role requiring access to export-controlled information and facilities.
