Rippling is a unified platform for HR, IT, and Finance that brings together workforce systems normally scattered across companies—payroll, expenses, benefits, computers, and third-party app integrations. The company has raised $1.4B+ from top-tier investors and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
You will lead a team responsible for Rippling's core cloud infrastructure and production platform. This is a people-management role where you'll define long-term strategy for infrastructure scalability, reliability, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include owning Kubernetes platform architecture and cluster management, driving infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code and self-service capabilities, establishing best practices around observability and incident response, and partnering with engineering teams to improve system reliability and deployment safety. You'll lead large-scale infrastructure initiatives spanning multiple engineering organizations, develop and mentor engineers, and drive improvements in cost efficiency and cloud resource management.
The role sits at the intersection of technical depth and organizational leadership. You'll engage deeply in system design decisions, guide engineers through complex tradeoffs, and help shape how Rippling's platform evolves as the company scales.
Rippling values in-office collaboration; office-based employees are expected to work in-office at least three days per week.
