As Senior Engineering Manager for the Payroll Platform team, you will lead a high-impact engineering team responsible for building the foundational platform that powers critical payroll flows: processing, approvals, corrections, and related operations. This is a people-management role with significant scope and influence over product direction and company strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
• Architect for Scale: Lead backend strategy to evolve the Run Management engine, ensuring it handles massive data throughput and complex orchestration logic.
• Orchestrate Complexity: Design systems that manage intricate payroll workflows, integrations, and state management across global payroll operations.
• Build Winning Teams: Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent. Foster a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
• Drive Technical & Business Decisions: Shape product roadmap and engineering strategy that directly impact Rippling's growth and competitive position.
• Scalability & Reliability: Ensure the payroll platform meets stringent SLAs, handles edge cases across multiple geographies and tax regimes, and scales with customer growth.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Partner with product, finance, and operations teams to align engineering efforts with business priorities.
