Salary: EUR 89,000 - 122,000 / annual
Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Egress team, which owns a critical component of Cloudflare's Connectivity Cloud: egress connectivity infrastructure. This team builds and operates cutting-edge network software used by multiple Cloudflare products including Dedicated Egress IP Connectivity, WARP, Cloudflare One/Zero Trust, and iCloud Private Relay.
In this role, you will hire, mentor, and coach a distributed team of Software Engineers while shaping the team's culture and technical vision. Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Product Managers and Engineering leaders to communicate vision, prioritize roadmap, and achieve cross-functional objectives
- Understanding technical implications of distributed software network infrastructure to influence scope, coordinate across teams, and unblock projects spanning data planes and control-plane services
- Leveraging technical expertise to evaluate tradeoffs, contribute to design decisions, and drive resolution of customer-facing issues while empowering engineers to lead design and delivery
- Owning production service reliability through on-call rotation organization, customer escalation handling, and incident response oversight
- Driving reliability and automation improvements across the platform
- Using tools and processes to track project status and resolve blockages
You are growth-oriented, comfortable in fast-paced environments, and lead with curiosity and empathy. The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an Engineering Manager overseeing Software and Systems Engineers, with a proven track record in hiring, onboarding, and professional development. Experience with Layer 3/4 networking, network performance monitoring, distributed systems debugging, and production on-call management is highly valued. Willingness to adopt AI tools into your workflow is important.
