Genius AI is building technology to help local businesses automate administrative work. The company's products handle booking, marketing, client management, finances, staff and inventory management, and more—saving businesses 106M admin hours and facilitating 624M+ client touchpoints. You will lead the Compute, Data, and DevEx teams as Senior Engineering Manager, Infrastructure. This role owns everything that powers Genius AI's product delivery. You will report to the VP of Engineering and operate in a hybrid model (3-4 days per week in-office at the San Francisco headquarters). Key responsibilities include: - Own the technical roadmap for infrastructure and data platform, scaling from current footprint to support an order of magnitude more traffic while maintaining 99.95% uptime and controlling cloud spend across multiple AWS regions - Shape agentic production operations as the default, building AI enablement layers that let engineers delegate routine operational work to agents - Define reliability engineering practices with product teams, establishing SLI/SLO frameworks, managing incident response and post-mortems - Improve developer experience across the organization through CI platform standardization and self-service tooling that enables teams to manage infrastructure-as-code independently - Lead incident command during critical outages and convert each into systemic fixes rather than follow-up tickets - Own vendor strategy and infrastructure budget, negotiating enterprise contracts and leading migrations when cost or capability justifies the change You bring 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, with at least 4 years managing or leading engineering teams at high-growth technology companies. You have hands-on expertise across AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and modern observability tooling. You've fundamentally changed how teams operate using AI, can articulate the systems you designed and the work they absorbed, and have a track record of developing engineers into stronger leaders. You make decisions with incomplete information, ship quickly, and adjust based on data. You understand cloud spend, developer velocity, and reliability as direct business levers, not cost centers.
