Rubrik is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Hypervisor platform team in Bengaluru, India. This is a people-management role responsible for building and scaling a new engineering presence in India while collaborating closely with the US-based Hypervisor engineering team.
You will manage a team of engineers focused on data protection and management for hypervisor workloads—currently the most widely protected workload on the Rubrik platform. The role involves driving technical roadmaps, setting clear goals and accountability, and translating business objectives into engineering priorities.
Key responsibilities include: deriving and driving the roadmap with stakeholders; diagnosing and resolving obstacles to quality software delivery; championing continuous improvement and engineering excellence; applying first-principles thinking to complex technical problems; distilling ambiguous situations into actionable plans; representing the customer perspective; building and leading the India-based team while collaborating with US engineers; enabling self-organization and high velocity; and growing employees through coaching, mentoring, and career development.
You will work on large-scale distributed systems serving both cloud and on-premises protection. The role requires strong technical background in platforms and infrastructure, with experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones. You'll report to a manager in Palo Alto while establishing Rubrik's Hypervisor engineering presence in Bangalore.
