Rubrik is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Systems Engineering team within the Developer Platform organization. This team owns the reliability of Rubrik Cloud Data Management (CDM) and RSC-P products, ensuring customers can recover their data when they need it most.
You will be accountable for proving Rubrik's products are reliable before customers depend on them. Your responsibilities include:
- Own release reliability decisions for every CDM release, working with release managers and component leaders to make ship-or-hold calls based on evidence from validation platforms.
- Drive the qualification roadmap, setting priorities for release workflows and fast build qualification to improve both quality and speed.
- Lead engineers building stress, scale, chaos, and longevity infrastructure, simulators, and long-running environments that enable component teams to self-serve validation.
- Build and grow a high-performing team across geographies, establishing a culture of transparency, innovation, and security-first thinking. Hire, coach, and retain top talent.
- Establish operational rigor through clear sprint planning, stand-ups, regular reviews, direct feedback, and accountability for delivery.
- Track and act on key metrics: certification cycle time, customer-found escapes, triage time, and infrastructure cost.
- Reimagine reliability in the AI era by adopting and promoting AI-driven triage, automation, and emerging technologies aligned with company vision.
- Partner broadly with component leaders, product managers, and program managers to align priorities and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
The team owns release reliability certification, stress/scale/chaos platforms, extreme-scale simulation, long-running customer-like environments, and AI-driven triage and reliability workflows.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years in the software industry with hands-on experience building and delivering enterprise-grade products as both individual contributor and manager
- 3+ years leading teams of software or systems engineers with a track record of delivering high-quality enterprise releases
- Technical depth in distributed systems, test infrastructure, or release and reliability engineering
- Experience hiring and building top-tier teams, including geographically distributed teams
- Experience building engineering practices, processes, and operational rigor
- Track record of communicating clearly and influencing across engineering, product, and executive leadership
- Ability to execute in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- AI-forward leadership: proven use of AI to improve your own work and your team's (e.g., building or adopting AI agents and tooling that measurably cut triage time, speed up infrastructure and pipeline delivery, or automate release workflows)
