We seek a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a backend/platform-focused engineering team responsible for powering SentiLink's core products. This team owns backend systems, external APIs, and services that power the platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
You will lead a small but growing team of engineers building API-driven systems, evolving platform architecture, and enabling product teams to move quickly. The role sits at the intersection of backend platform development, technical architecture, and people leadership. You'll partner closely with product, data science, infrastructure, and front-end engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include leading and growing the backend/platform engineering team, driving execution across planning and delivery with focus on reliability and scalability, owning technical direction of backend services and APIs, partnering with product teams to translate requirements into robust architectures, collaborating with data science to productionize models and integrate decisioning systems, working with infrastructure to improve reliability and observability, contributing to architectural decisions, maintaining high standards for code quality and testing, supporting incident response, hiring and mentoring engineers, and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
The ideal candidate has 3-7 years of engineering management experience leading backend or platform teams, with a strong background as a senior or staff-level backend engineer. Required skills include deep experience building API-driven systems using Golang, Python, or similar languages, strong understanding of distributed systems and system design, experience owning and evolving backend architecture in production, and a track record of shipping complex systems. Preferred qualifications include experience building platforms supporting product teams, familiarity with data-intensive systems and search technologies, and experience in fintech or regulated environments.
