As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead and scale engineering teams building high-throughput systems that ingest large volumes of social data, run real-time AI agents, and deliver insights through analytics and automation. You'll manage software engineers and tech leads across both customer-facing product development and a Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) function focused on high-priority enterprise initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct management, mentoring, and career development of software engineers and tech leads
- Partnership with Product, Design, and leadership to translate roadmaps into executable plans and manage team capacity
- Oversight of technical design, code quality, and architectural decisions for real-time data systems and AI workflows
- Establishment and refinement of agile practices, sprint planning, and operational processes to improve delivery velocity and reliability
- Cross-functional collaboration with Customer Success and Sales to ensure technical initiatives deliver business value
- Recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of exceptional engineering talent
You'll operate with a strong product mindset, bridging technical execution, team development, and product strategy as the engineering organization scales from ~50 people into its next growth phase.
Required: 7+ years software engineering experience with 3+ years directly managing engineering teams. You need a track record of recruiting and developing high-performing engineers, strong product and business acumen to align technical work with goals, solid technical background to evaluate architecture and guide decisions, proven ability to improve delivery cadences and processes, and strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Bonus experience includes B2B SaaS, social data platforms, developer tools, or marketing tech; familiarity with AI-powered systems and real-time analytics; knowledge of AWS, TypeScript/React, Postgres, ClickHouse; and experience managing teams across web and mobile.
