As a Senior Systems Engineer in the Australian Engineering group, you will drive end-to-end system requirements capture for Hivemind Vision Systems and integrated autonomy solutions. You will support the design and development of system architectures spanning perception, autonomy, and mission-level workflows, using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to document, maintain, and extend architecture models for new integrations and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Capturing and structuring end-to-end system requirements for complex autonomy and vision systems
- Supporting design and development of multi-domain system architectures (perception, autonomy, mission workflows)
- Developing and maintaining UML, SysML, and UPDM models with emphasis on system decomposition, functional flows, interfaces, and behavior
- Using MBSE tools (such as Cameo Systems Modeler) to document and evolve architecture models
- Collaborating with subject-matter experts to improve tooling, automation, and connections between system models and codebases
- Supporting the evolution of systems engineering processes across the Australian organization
- Engaging cross-functionally with product, program, engineering, and business development teams
- Reporting status, risks, accomplishments, and expectations to senior leadership
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 7 years of systems engineering or related experience with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Systems, Software, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering); or 5 years with a Master's degree; or 2 years with a PhD; or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated experience with systems engineering practices, including writing, structuring, and verifying requirements
- Hands-on experience with MBSE and system-modeling workflows
- Experience working on cross-functional technical teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and methodical with ability to manage detailed technical information
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Demonstrated track record of integrity, high standards, teamwork, and professionalism
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian NV1 (Secret) clearance
- Ability to access and handle ITAR-controlled and Australian export-controlled technical data
PREFERRED:
- Expertise with MBSE tools including Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo APIs, and Velocity Template Language (VTL)
- Expertise in requirements and design decomposition for complex hardware/software systems
- Experience in autonomy, aircraft systems, perception, unmanned vehicles, or robotic platforms
