As a Senior Python Engineer, you'll own and maintain backend services within Tide's microservices architecture. You'll design, build, run, and scale services globally across one of the company's domains. Working in small cross-functional squads, you'll collaborate with product teams, mobile/web engineers, and data scientists to translate business requirements into well-engineered solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and owning services your team maintains, with full lifecycle ownership
- Selecting technology partners alongside the product team
- Mentoring backend engineers across agile teams while balancing design, implementation, and knowledge sharing
- Aligning your team's vision and roadmap with target architecture and complex multi-domain initiatives
- Contributing to Communities of Practice as a beacon of best practices
- Applying extensive experience to guide fellow engineers on problem domains and best practices
You'll report to a People Manager and Staff Engineer (Functional), working within a highly skilled engineering team. Tide operates in an agile fashion with emphasis on continuous improvement and career development through their Growth Framework.
Required qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Python Developer with Python as primary language
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (SOLID, ACID, Testing)
- Experience with backend development, microservices, and distributed systems
- Ability to mentor and guide other engineers
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
