As a Senior Python Engineer, you will own and maintain backend services within Tide's microservices architecture. You'll report directly to the Staff Engineer and work within small, cross-functional agile squads organized by domain. Your responsibilities include designing, building, running, and scaling services globally; collaborating with product teams on technology selection; mentoring junior engineers; and ensuring alignment between your team's roadmap and the target architecture.
You'll work closely with product owners, mobile and web engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions. You'll contribute to the Engineering Community of Practice, sharing best practices and technical guidance. The role emphasizes ownership—you design it, build it, run it, and scale it.
Key requirements include proven experience as a Python developer (primary language), understanding of software engineering fundamentals (SOLID, ACID, testing), hands-on AWS experience, and expertise with frameworks like Django, FastAPI, and Flask. You should have extensive REST API integration experience and the ability to work across multiple teams while balancing design, implementation, and mentoring.
