Shield AI is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join its engineering team in Dallas, Texas. Shield AI is a venture-backed defense-tech company developing intelligent autonomous systems, including Hivemind autonomy software, V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft platforms, and Aechelon simulation and synthetic reality technologies. The company's technology actively supports military and defense operations worldwide, with offices across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining critical network infrastructure that supports Shield AI's advanced defense systems and operations. This role involves working on complex networking challenges at scale, ensuring reliability and security of systems that directly impact mission-critical operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to architect network solutions, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and optimize performance across distributed systems.
Key responsibilities include: designing and deploying network architectures for defense applications; implementing network security protocols and best practices; managing and monitoring network performance; collaborating with software and systems engineers on integration; and contributing to technical documentation and knowledge sharing. This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced engineer who can balance strategic infrastructure planning with hands-on implementation work.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in network engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and experience working in high-stakes environments. You should be comfortable with both traditional networking and modern cloud/distributed systems architectures, and have a track record of delivering reliable, secure infrastructure.
