CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to design, build, and operate the control plane for its high-performance AI storage platform. The role involves architecting a highly scalable multi-tenant control plane supporting exabyte-scale, S3-compatible object storage and distributed file systems integrated into diverse customer environments.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable storage infrastructure, contributing to the development of object storage and distributed file systems, and working with advanced technologies such as RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, RoCE, InfiniBand, SPDK, and distributed filesystems to optimize performance and efficiency. You will participate in improving reliability, durability, and observability of the storage stack, collaborate with operations teams to monitor and optimize systems using telemetry and metrics, and work cross-functionally with platform, product, and infrastructure teams.
The role includes mentoring other engineers on best practices in building distributed, high-performance systems. You'll be part of CoreWeave's infrastructure team during a period of significant growth, working on systems that power some of the largest and most innovative AI workloads globally.
Required qualifications include 6–10 years of storage systems engineering or infrastructure experience, strong hands-on production experience with object storage or distributed filesystems, familiarity with storage protocols (S3, NFS) and file systems (Ceph, DAOS), proficiency in systems programming languages (Go, C, Rust), and understanding of cloud-native infrastructure and Kubernetes. You should have strong debugging skills in distributed environments and be an effective communicator who collaborates well across teams.
