Shield AI is seeking a Senior Engineer to work on Human Machine Teaming systems. The role focuses on developing and advancing autonomy software that enables intelligent collaboration between humans and autonomous systems. As a senior individual contributor, you will guide technical direction on human-machine interface design, decision-support systems, and collaborative autonomy architectures. You'll work with cross-functional teams including product, operations, and field teams to ensure systems meet real-world operational requirements. The position involves designing systems that enhance situational awareness, reduce cognitive load on operators, and improve decision-making in complex environments. You'll contribute to Shield AI's core Hivemind autonomy platform and related products including V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft systems. The role requires deep expertise in human factors engineering, autonomous systems, real-time software, and systems integration. You'll mentor junior engineers and help establish best practices for human-machine teaming across the organization. Based in Washington, DC with access to Shield AI's facilities and operations teams.
