Salary: USD 121,000 - 152,000 / annual

Sila Nanotechnologies is a next-generation battery materials company focused on powering the world's transition to clean energy. They engineer and manufacture advanced lithium-ion battery materials that increase energy density while reducing size and weight, enabling smaller, more powerful batteries for consumer devices and electric vehicles. You will serve as a Senior Equipment Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager, with primary responsibility for the reliable operation and optimization of production equipment at their Moses Lake manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on technical role focused on day-to-day execution, troubleshooting, and practical design improvements. Key responsibilities include: - Provide direct mechanical engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to pumps, blowers, furnaces, and material handling equipment - Create and revise CAD models, fabrication drawings, and mechanical fixture designs for operational needs and equipment modifications - Work with the Maintenance team to refine equipment health check strategies, maintenance procedures, and lubrication plans - Perform technical reviews of mechanical design documents to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and internal specifications - Establish and maintain relationships with external fabrication and repair services - Utilize operational data to implement condition-based monitoring procedures that prevent downtime - Participate in feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for equipment upgrades and reliability improvements - Document solutions and provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in chemical process industries or manufacturing; demonstrated experience with industrial equipment (pumps, motors, blowers, valves); proficiency in CAD software; working knowledge of applicable codes and standards for industrial equipment; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Mechanical Integrity concepts is preferred. The role involves working in a manufacturing environment with physical demands including wearing PPE, moving items up to 50 lbs with assistance, traveling between buildings, entering confined spaces, and climbing stairs. Based in Moses Lake, WA.
