Join Deliveroo's rapidly growing Accounting team as a Senior Engineer focused on building the scalable backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that power accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting workflows across DoorDash's global marketplace operations.
In this role, you will take technical ownership of critical accounting infrastructure projects, designing and building systems that ensure accuracy, auditability, and compliance at scale. You'll partner directly with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into reliable, automated systems. As a senior engineer, you'll mentor junior team members, shape the team's architecture and engineering best practices, and drive measurable improvements in data accuracy, pipeline reliability, and system performance in a compliance-critical environment.
You bring 5+ years of software or data engineering experience with a strong track record of owning and delivering complex backend or data infrastructure projects. Deep expertise in distributed systems and data engineering is essential, with hands-on experience in modern data stack tools like Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, or similar technologies. You understand the intersection of engineering and finance—concepts like revenue recognition, reconciliation, and auditability—and can build systems that meet those requirements. A collaborative, low-ego approach enables you to partner effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Engineering. Familiarity with SOX controls, data quality frameworks, or financial systems like NetSuite is a strong plus.
