Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Energy Systems Engineer to join the Maritime Enabling Technology team. This role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and certifying high-density energy systems for cutting-edge maritime platforms operating in harsh environments. Key responsibilities include: • Design and develop high-density energy storage systems through internal engineering projects, contributing to both hardware and software solutions. • Execute against the energy technology roadmap, advancing current systems through capability development, validation, and optimization. • Support critical certification efforts for energy systems, including UN38.3 and NAVSEA 9310 compliance. • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external vendors to integrate energy systems into maritime products using agile development and CI/CD principles. • Identify energy demands, develop detailed technical specifications, and ensure systems meet product requirements for endurance and safety. • Conduct rigorous testing, analysis, and validation of energy systems, documenting findings to support shipping and use certifications. • Communicate technical development status, findings, and issues to internal stakeholders and external partners. • Evaluate new energy technologies and industry trends, proposing innovative solutions to enhance product capabilities. • Provide technical inputs for proposals, including engineering execution plans and customer deliverables. • Perform mission and system-level trade studies to inform design decisions, balancing risk, cost, and performance. • Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action activities for energy and power systems. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering. 6+ years of hands-on experience in power system design and development. Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and testing high-density energy storage systems for complex environments. Experience with battery safety plans and high-reliability, mission-critical power systems. Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
