Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an experienced Senior EMC Design Engineer to join the Air Dominance & Strike Electrical Engineering team. This role focuses on designing, testing, and validating electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) solutions for advanced military electronic systems.
Key responsibilities include conducting EMI/EMC testing and analysis on electronic systems and components, driving product maturity through rapid prototyping and design verification, and developing mitigation strategies for EMI/EMC issues. You will prepare comprehensive test plans, reports, and documentation for compliance verification, and collaborate with cross-functional product design teams to integrate EMC requirements early in the design phase.
The role requires identifying program-level EMI/EMC risks and defining strategies to reduce them through modeling, simulation, and experimental activities. You will stay current with relevant military and industry standards including MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464D, DOD-160, FCC, CISPR, and IEC requirements. Field testing and real-world performance assessments are part of the scope, and you will work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple concurrent projects and customers.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, 7+ years of EMI/EMC design and testing experience, and proven expertise in E3 design, analysis, and mitigation strategies (HERO, HEMP, Lightning Protection, ESD, RF exposure). You must be proficient with EMI/EMC testing equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, antennas, LISN) and simulation tools (ANSYS, CST Microwave Studio). Strong PCB layout knowledge, understanding of standard interfaces (MIPI, DP, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB), and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance are essential.
