CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the team developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. The Skylark product line focuses on rapid design, build, and test of active phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications, spanning high-power ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions.
You will own embedded software designs from concept through production, including product roadmaps, block diagrams, detailed design and coding, analysis, test, qualification, and in-orbit support. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise across the full software stack: microcontrollers, low-level device drivers, kernel modifications, boot loaders, board support packages (BSP), and user-facing applications with emphasis on data management.
Strong background required in Linux and Yocto development, with preference for Xilinx platform experience (though other microcontroller platforms acceptable). You will demonstrate expertise in software testing, high-reliability qualification practices, and software engineering/project management methodologies.
Responsibilities include presenting engineering design review materials to customers and executive leadership, participating in proposal-writing efforts, and contributing to a dynamic, cross-functional work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Note: U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required to comply with U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations.
