Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join its Software Engineering team at the Devens, MA facility. The company is focused on designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants to accelerate the global transition to fusion energy. Since 2018, CFS has raised $4 billion in capital and is the largest fusion company in the world.
In this role, you will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and verifying software and controls for advanced R&D equipment and complex machinery. You will champion the development of excellent quality, production-ready code for mission-critical real-time systems. Your responsibilities include collecting functional requirements from customers and producing software solutions that meet those requirements.
You will collaborate with a variety of engineers to integrate your software into software testbeds, hardware testbeds, and production tools. Additionally, you will contribute to the broader software ecosystem by improving tooling and processes used across the company. This is an individual contributor role where technical excellence and problem-solving are paramount.
