CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will own software development across the full stack—from low-level microcontroller firmware to high-level Linux-based applications—across all phases of the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop software for Linux-based single-board computers and high-reliability microcontroller systems
- Lead software architecture from concept through production, including product roadmaps, block diagrams, detailed design, coding, analysis, testing, and qualification
- Work across the entire software stack: microcontrollers, low-level drivers, board support packages (BSP), end-use applications, and user interfaces
- Implement software testing and high-reliability qualification processes
- Apply software engineering best practices and project management discipline
- Present engineering design reviews to customers and executive leadership
- Contribute to proposal-writing efforts
- Provide in-orbit support and customer integration assistance
You will work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment with hands-on autonomy and the opportunity to engage across the organization. The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as you'll interface with customers and leadership regularly.
Initially remote, with planned transition to in-person work once the Florida office is established. U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status required per ITAR/export control regulations.
