CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will own software development across the full stack—from low-level microcontroller firmware to high-level Linux-based applications—throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing software for high-reliability systems, including single-board computers and microcontroller platforms. You will drive software architecture from concept through production, including product roadmaps, block diagrams, detailed design, coding, analysis, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support. The role demands expertise across multiple layers: microcontrollers, low-level drivers, board support packages (BSP), end-use applications, and user interfaces.
You will also lead software testing and high-reliability qualification efforts, apply rigorous software engineering and project management practices, and present technical design reviews to customers and executive leadership. Proposal-writing contributions are expected. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
The role is initially remote with a planned transition to in-person work once the Florida office is established. U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status is required to comply with space technology export regulations.
