CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will own software development across the full stack—from low-level microcontroller firmware to high-level Linux-based applications—across all phases of the product lifecycle.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and qualifying software for high-reliability systems, including Linux-based single-board computers and mission-critical microcontroller platforms. Your work will span concept through production, including product roadmaps, block diagrams, detailed design, coding, analysis, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience across multiple layers of the software stack: microcontrollers, low-level drivers, board support packages (BSP), end-use applications, and user interfaces. You should have proven expertise in software testing, high-reliability qualification processes, and software engineering best practices. Experience with software project management is a plus.
Beyond hands-on development, you will present engineering design reviews to customers and the executive team, participate in proposal writing, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
