Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Battlespace Awareness (BA) team in Costa Mesa, California. The BA team develops state-of-the-art radar systems for U.S. and allied military applications, working across hardware, software, and firmware in both RF and digital domains.
In this role, you will lead full-stack embedded software development for next-generation radar seeker products—the critical component enabling mission success. You will design, develop, and deploy embedded software across the entire stack, from application-level code on ARM-based microprocessors and hard processor cores (Microblaze, Nios) in bare-metal and OS-based configurations, down to low-level driver software controlling hardware at the bus level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and deploy embedded software across the full stack, from application code to drivers and low-level hardware control mechanisms
- Develop and maintain embedded Linux software for radar systems using modern C++ and/or Rust
- Write device drivers and firmware interfacing with hardware over SPI, I2C, UART, and other low-level buses
- Perform hardware-software integration, board bring-up, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF/digital test equipment
- Spend significant time on-site at Anduril facilities (weeks at a time) supporting integration, field testing, and real-world product validation
- Collaborate with electrical, RF, firmware, and systems engineers to deliver fully functional products
- Troubleshoot complex issues spanning electrical and software boundaries
- Operate autonomously within a small, fast-paced team, driving development from concept through deployment
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field; professional experience developing embedded software for production systems; strong proficiency in modern C++ and/or Rust; demonstrated expertise in embedded Linux development; and experience with ARM processors and traditional microprocessor architectures. Experience writing device drivers and familiarity with RF/digital test equipment are essential.
