Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer to join the Advanced Infrared Solutions (AIRS) team in Hudson, NH. AIRS, acquired by Anduril in 2025, designs and manufactures world-class cooled infrared cameras and subsystems, including Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCAs), for defense, space, and commercial applications.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of new product lines, working closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to define requirements, complete design and analysis, build prototypes, and mature them through ground and flight testing into production systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading FPGA architecture, standards, development, and review processes
- Designing, architecting, simulating, and integrating VHDL designs into FPGAs or Systems on Chip (SoCs) for optimized performance, resource utilization, and power efficiency
- Collaborating with electrical engineers, software engineers, and systems engineers to ensure seamless hardware/software integration, including processor bring-up and board support packages
- Developing robust test benches in VHDL/Verilog and utilizing lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) for rigorous testing and validation against functional specifications
- Optimizing algorithms for hardware acceleration, including MIPS optimization and efficient use of on-chip bus protocols (AXI, AXI-Stream)
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field; 10+ years of HDL firmware development for FPGA devices; expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog; experience with industry-standard FPGA tools (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus); strong hardware/software debugging skills; and proficiency with version control systems (Git).
