Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems across hardware and software, leveraging computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to provide warfighters and allies with a competitive advantage.
As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer, you will drive process improvements, ensure production quality, and support development and implementation of new products. You will optimize manufacturing processes, reduce costs, increase efficiencies on existing technologies, and develop new products while scaling to full production. The Manufacturing Team rapidly iterates and builds cutting-edge defense hardware, owning the entire manufacturing value chain including Design for Manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and work documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Contribute to operational excellence with continuous improvement mindset and lead impactful Kaizen events
- Partner with Product Quality Engineering to drive and support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) burndowns
- Troubleshoot and drive to root cause in complex mixed-signal systems
- Implement corrective actions to improve first-pass yield (FPY) and overall production performance
- Collaborate with Design Engineering teams in early to late development phases to provide Design for X (DFx) guidance for smooth New Product Introduction (NPI) transitions
- Develop process flows, breaking down complex assemblies into logical part flows and sub-processes
- Write manufacturing documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements
- Work with contract manufacturers across disciplines (PCBA fab, metallic manufacturing, assembly) to develop repeatable processes for quick-turn development and at-scale production
- Work hands-on with technicians and engineers building prototype hardware
- Contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in a technical field preferred (engineering, math, or hard science)
- 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware
- Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in resource-constrained environments
- Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, wire harness assembly/repair, assembly, etc.)
- Hands-on experience using electrical debug tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, DAQs, and programmable power supplies
- Prior experience working with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP) or equivalents
- Experience with electromechanical products requiring system AI&T (assembly, integration, and test)
- Proficiency in communicating technical challenges to a variety of audiences, up to and including site leadership
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus
