RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics solutions that combine hardware, software, and AI. As Senior Electrical Engineer - Robotics, you will own the complete electrical architecture of our robotics platforms, from early prototyping through series production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full electrical design ownership: schematic capture, multi-layer PCB layout, cable harness design, connector selection, and component specification
- End-to-end prototyping and production: develop PCBs, circuits, and wiring systems from concept to scalable manufacturing
- Establish engineering processes: build QA frameworks, engineering gates, and operational systems that enable rapid, focused execution
- Quality and compliance leadership: serve as primary gatekeeper for electrical quality, navigating safety standards and regulatory compliance (CE/Machinery Directive, ISO 10218, EMC standards)
- Motion system architecture: design and optimize 24V/48V power distribution, motor/servo drive integration, and sensor interfaces for signal integrity and thermal efficiency
- Cross-functional collaboration: work with firmware and software teams on board bring-up, microcontroller integration, and system-level debugging
- Manufacturing partnership: manage DFM/DFT, supplier relationships, BOM costs, component sourcing, and engineering change control
Required qualifications:
- Vocational training or degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent
- Several years of full-cycle electrical design experience (analog, digital, power circuits) across multiple companies, taking products from concept to market
- Deep technical expertise in Altium, multi-layer PCB layout, microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, STM32), motion systems (24/48V power, motor drives, encoders, sensor interfaces), and EMC/thermal layout
- Solid understanding of DFM/DFT principles, cable harness design, signal integrity, and contract manufacturer collaboration
- Proactive ownership mindset with pragmatic working style and drive to establish scalable processes in high-growth environments
- Very good English skills (German a plus)
- Nice to have: familiarity with industrial protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet) and relevant standards/safety concepts
RobCo, founded in Munich in 2020, has raised $160M from Lightspeed, Lingotto Innovation, and Sequoia. With 200+ employees globally and 2.5M+ operating hours in the field, the company deploys robots across European and US factories. The role offers flat hierarchies, open communication, flexible working hours, home office options, and a dynamic scale-up environment where you'll see direct impact from day one.
