Saronic Technologies is developing autonomous maritime platforms and seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, specification, and validation of power systems for autonomous vessels operating in extreme marine environments. You will own the full lifecycle of electrical power generation, distribution, and conversion architectures—from requirements and design through prototype testing and field commissioning. This is a hands-on role combining design innovation with real-world performance validation. Key responsibilities include: - Lead design and specification of power subsystems for autonomous maritime platforms - Develop system requirements, engineering drawings (one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams), and analyses (load analyses, short-circuit calculations, voltage drop, harmonic studies) - Evaluate and select components for harsh marine environments; conduct trade studies against automotive, defense, and mining industry benchmarks - Design system architectures optimizing reliability, maintainability, and environmental protection - Collaborate with mechanical, software, and autonomy teams on system integration - Support prototype builds, lab testing, dockside trials, and at-sea commissioning - Author design documentation including specifications, trade studies, test plans, and integration standards - Mentor junior engineers in power system fundamentals and ruggedization Required: Proven experience designing or specifying electrical power systems for marine, automotive, defense, aerospace, or mining vehicles. Strong foundation in power system design, environmental qualification, and manufacturability. Preferred: AC power distribution (120/240/480V), generator controls and electrical interlocks, fieldbus protocols (Ethernet, CAN, RS485), reliability analysis (FMEA, FTA), electrical safety standards (UL, CE, ABS), autonomous system architectures. The role combines technical depth with cross-functional collaboration and mentorship, ideal for an engineer ready to shape the future of autonomous maritime technology.
