Rhoda AI is building generalist intelligent robots with a full end-to-end stack spanning hardware, systems, and foundation world models. The company has raised over $450M and is scaling aggressively across model research, infrastructure, hardware development, and manufacturing. As Senior Electrical Engineer for the hand system, you will own the complete electronics design that enables sensing and actuation in the robot's hand. This is a hands-on role where you design and validate the motor-control boards, current sensing circuits, and low-latency signal chains critical to teleoperation fidelity. Key responsibilities: - Lead schematic design and PCB layout for hand-scale electronics in severely constrained form factors - Develop motor-control electronics including drive stages and current sensing for torque and grasp-force estimation - Minimize latency across the sensing-to-actuation signal chain to ensure immediate teleoperation response - Design sensing, harnessing, and interconnects within tight physical constraints - Support board bring-up, debug, and validation through rapid prototype iterations You bring 5+ years of complex electrical engineering and systems design experience. You are expert in dense PCB layout for odd form factors, have hands-on motor-control electronics experience, and deeply understand signal latency impacts on closed-loop control. Nice-to-have skills include encoder/tactile/force sensing experience, EMI/EMC mitigation in compact motor-drive systems, and comfort collaborating with firmware engineers during board bring-up. This is a high-impact individual contributor role at a well-funded robotics company solving real-world hardware challenges at scale.
