Apptronik is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive continuous improvement across the Apollo humanoid robot platform. This role combines hands-on hardware expertise with process leadership, focusing on design optimization, manufacturing excellence, and system reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
**PCBA Design for Excellence**: Develop and refine design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) processes for PCBAs and wiring harnesses. Manage bills of materials, component sourcing, and substitutions in collaboration with supply chain. Partner with vendors and manufacturing teams through design release and initial production builds. Support the broader electrical engineering team on new designs.
**Debug & Root Cause Analysis**: Conduct thorough root cause analysis on system failures, performance issues, and production inefficiencies. Implement robust corrective actions and coordinate their deployment. Develop comprehensive design documentation for system bring-up and field deployment. Define and support compliance, EMI/EMC, safety, and reliability testing.
**Process Leadership**: Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the Apollo platform, identifying opportunities in design, manufacturing, and field support. Maintain processes for design release, product lifecycle management, manufacturing support, and engineering change orders. Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams. Develop and implement best practices for electrical assembly, testing, and quality control. Mentor junior engineers and ensure thorough documentation of all changes.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience. Proficiency with PLM systems (Arena), CAD tools (Altium or similar), PCB design and debugging, electronics lab tools, and simulation software. Strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving ability, and hands-on prototyping experience. Up to 10% travel within US and internationally.
