Salary: USD 165,000 - 190,000 / annual

Voyager Technologies is a space, defense, and national security technology company developing mission-critical solutions for advanced defense and space applications. This Senior Electrical Engineer role is part of the Products line, reporting to the VP of Product Design and based in San Diego, CA (100% onsite). You will be responsible for designing cutting-edge electrical components for space and national security applications, including Software Defined Radios, Digital Processing Systems, Space Rated Cameras, Star Trackers, and Laser Communications systems. Key responsibilities include: - Deriving and documenting circuit board requirements from system-level specifications - Creating schematic drawings and functional/design specifications for complex high-speed PCBAs - Laying out or guiding the layout of complex printed circuit boards - Assisting with manufacturing of complex PCBAs as needed - Collaborating with signal integrity, mechanical, and power teams during board design and testing - Developing and executing PCBA test plans and procedures to validate performance - Troubleshooting and testing complex circuit boards to validate designs - Meeting aggressive schedule deadlines - Supporting design and development gate reviews with comprehensive documentation - Participating in proposals and trade studies, evaluating contractor proposals for technical feasibility Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or related discipline - 7+ years of experience designing high-speed printed circuit boards - Solid understanding of digital logic, signal integrity, power circuitry, and high-speed PCB design/simulation techniques - Experience with FPGAs/PLDs, Ethernet PHYs, high-speed memories, PLLs, voltage regulators, and switching circuits - Knowledge of computer and system architecture - Experience with board simulations and processor/DSP interface design - Experience taking projects from bring-up through production ramp - Experience creating and reviewing validation/diagnostic test plans - Experience developing tests and debugging in the lab - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance Preferred qualifications: - Five years of analog and power design experience - Ability to perform PCB layout This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced electrical engineer who can drive complex hardware design in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
