Relativity Space is building next-generation rockets and spacecraft systems to enable commercial launch and deep-space exploration. The Interplanetary Sciences Program aims to make planetary research faster, more affordable, and more capable by rethinking how science missions are designed, built, and operated.
As Staff Electrical Engineer, you will own the design, development, and qualification of high-performance spacecraft electronics for deep-space compute and storage systems. Your responsibilities include:
• Design and build spacecraft electronics across compute modules, network switches, storage nodes, and communications terminals
• Balance capability requirements (CPU, GPU, storage, bandwidth) against flight constraints (power, thermal, EMI, mechanical, reliability)
• Collaborate closely with science and software teams to maximize mission capability while meeting spacecraft constraints
• Lead hands-on development campaigns to evaluate key technologies, derisk interfaces, and validate performance
• Conduct rapid prototyping, early testing, and iterative validation before full system integration
• Work across internal and external teams to transition concepts from analysis through prototypes to flight-ready systems
• Bring up core software infrastructure on both spacecraft and ground systems in coordination with the software team
• Ensure full system elements operate as intended across all environments
