Coram AI is building an AI-native video security platform that uses computer vision and edge AI to help businesses stay safe and make smarter decisions. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will own the complete electrical design of next-generation edge-AI hardware including cameras, intercoms, door readers, and access control devices.
You will take embedded SoCs from vendors like Ambarella and NXP, adapt their reference designs into production-ready hardware, and carry boards from schematic through layout, bring-up, validation, and manufacturing. Your responsibilities span the full product lifecycle: architecture and component selection, schematic capture and PCB layout, design reviews, board bring-up and validation, embedded platform ownership (BSP, bootloader, device trees, drivers), and vendor management through production.
Key technical areas include high-speed digital design (DDR/LPDDR, MIPI CSI-2, USB, Ethernet, PoE), power sequencing, signal integrity, sensor integration, EMC/regulatory compliance, and designing for real-world environments (surge/ESD protection, thermal management in sealed enclosures, audio paths, reader/controller interfaces like OSDP and Wiegand).
You'll need 5+ years of hardware product development with at least one volume-shipped product, strong proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium or equivalent), hands-on lab skills, working knowledge of embedded Linux and C, and proven DFM experience with contract manufacturers. Nice-to-haves include direct experience with Ambarella CVx or NXP i.MX platforms, camera/imaging expertise, access control domain knowledge, regulatory compliance experience, and Chinese language skills for vendor engagement in Taiwan/China.
