Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Air and Ground Deterrence (AGD) Division in Irvine, California. The AGD Division develops integrated robotic systems for multi-domain situational awareness and force protection across land, sea, and air domains. The Sentry Hardware team serves as the key system integrator for the Anduril Sentry Family of Systems, which leverages AI-enabled edge processing, 360-degree pan/tilt capability, and multiple radars and sensors to autonomously identify, detect, and track objects of interest for military and critical infrastructure applications.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end electrical design and development of mission-critical hardware products, from initial architecture and ruggedized electronics design through scaling legacy concepts to support full-rate production. You will partner closely with Architecture and Product Management teams to drive system requirements and own full PCB and electrical system design. Key responsibilities include identifying high-risk areas, creating and validating electronics designs for embedded compute and power systems, testing for long-term reliability, and considering manufacturability and testability throughout the design process.
Your day-to-day work will involve taking ownership as the main point of contact for electrical integration activities, providing hands-on and in-field support for prototype and production-level products, and collaborating with mechanical engineers to optimize component selection and integration of high-power systems. You will trade off component and module selections against size, weight, power, and EMC requirements, and work with the design team to achieve system-level reliability goals. The role requires managing involvement in multiple concurrent projects at various stages while supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer-operated hardware in a fast-paced environment.
Required qualifications include a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering with demonstrated ability to design digital and analog electronics from concept through production-ready products. You must be proficient in full-cycle PCB design, including requirements collection, schematic design, component selection, layout, bring-up, test, debug, validation, and system integration. Strong troubleshooting skills, clear technical documentation abilities, and experience working in cross-functional teams with mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers are essential. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance is required.
