Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, is a leader in AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers from AI researchers to enterprises and hyperscalers. The company's mission is to make compute as ubiquitous as electricity and give everyone the power of superintelligence.
As a Senior Electrical Delivery Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery and commissioning of electrical systems at Lambda's data center and AI infrastructure facilities. Your core responsibilities include:
- Performing site walkdowns to verify installed electrical systems against approved designs, single-line diagrams, specifications, and Lambda standards
- Validating equipment ratings, protection settings, phasing, grounding, bonding, terminations, labeling, redundancy, and electrical failure domains
- Identifying installation deficiencies, design conflicts, and operational risks; documenting and driving punch-list items to closure
- Reviewing construction test results and witnessing factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, functional testing, and integrated systems testing
- Developing and reviewing energization plans, MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, switching procedures, and electrical safety controls
- Supporting initial energization and troubleshooting issues involving substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, busway, PDUs, RPPs, and rack-level distribution
- Coordinating with design engineers, engineering partners, utilities, general contractors, electrical trades, equipment manufacturers, commissioning agents, operations, and HPC deployment teams
- Confirming that electrical capacity, voltage, redundancy, monitoring, and protection are ready before IT equipment is energized
- Validating as-built documentation, equipment settings, test reports, commissioning records, and turnover packages before operational handoff
- Capturing field lessons and incorporating them into Lambda's design standards, commissioning requirements, and site-validation playbooks
- Mentoring other engineers and providing senior technical leadership during high-risk energization and bring-up activities
You will be expected to travel extensively and spend extended periods at active construction and commissioning sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant experience delivering, commissioning, or operating electrical systems in data centers, mission-critical facilities, utilities, or large industrial environments
- Understanding of both medium- and low-voltage distribution, including transformers, switchgear, protective relays, generators, UPS systems, busway, grounding, and rack-level power
- Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, equipment submittals, protection studies, relay settings, test reports, and construction documentation
- Hands-on experience with site inspections, electrical testing, energization, commissioning, or operational turnover
- Understanding of electrical safety, lockout/tagout, energized work controls, and applicable NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA requirements
- Ability to distinguish between cosmetic deficiencies and conditions that create material safety, reliability, or operational risk
- Comfort making decisions in the field, escalating critical issues, and coordinating corrective work under schedule pressure
- Clear communication skills with construction teams, engineers, vendors, operators, and senior stakeholders
- Willingness to travel extensively and spend extended periods at active construction and commissioning sites
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience commissioning hyperscale, colocation, HPC, or AI data centers
- Experience supporting first energization and initial IT-load or GPU-cluster bring-up
- Familiarity with Level 1–5 commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational-readiness processes
- Experience with protective-relay testing, breaker testing, insulation-resistance testing, power-quality analysis, or infrared inspections
- Experience with tools such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Procore, Bluebeam, or commissioning-management platforms
- Experience investigating electrical failures and leading root-cause analysis
- Professional Engineer licensure, commissioning certification, or NETA-related experience
