K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, backed by $450M in funding from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, T. Rowe Price, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Alpine Space Ventures. The company has an additional $500M in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers and is mass-producing high-power satellite platforms for missions from LEO to deep space.
As a Senior Dynamics Engineer, you will be a core member of the growing analysis team responsible for deriving loads and environments for K2 Space satellites across all mission phases: ground transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation. You will own the full lifecycle of vehicle-level dynamic testing, from test planning and coordination through test analysis and model correlation. Your work will establish simulation workflows and build software tools to support frequency and time domain analyses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive vehicle-level dynamic testing from start to finish, including test planning, coordination, analysis, and model correlation
- Devise development testing within your first couple of months to correlate physics models with measured data
- Own qualification and acceptance testing of satellite hardware at both component and vehicle levels
- Deliver well-derived requirements and engineering insights to support reliable, mass-producible spacecraft design
- Contribute to refining designs and scaling for future missions
This role offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking space technology at a Series C startup with multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027. You will directly impact the development of satellites engineered to survive harsh radiation environments and fully capitalize on today's heavy-lift launch vehicles.
