Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Dynamics Analyst to contribute to the design, analysis, and validation of Neutron, a medium-lift reusable launch vehicle. In this role, you will be responsible for predicting and defining loads and environments for vehicle components, supporting testing and qualification campaigns, and specifying vehicle instrumentation including accelerometers, strain gauges, and thermocouples.
Key responsibilities include performing finite element analysis and analytical methods to predict launch vehicle vibration environments, contributing to test plan definition for dynamic testing (random vibration, acoustics, shock), and post-processing test results. You will define suitable sensors and their locations to monitor in-flight environments, then correlate collected data with numerical predictions to validate models.
You will work closely with avionics, mechanical, fluids, and propulsion team members to determine mounting strategies for vehicle and ground system components. This role involves establishing technical methodologies used across the engineering team and supporting the Neutron program from conceptual design through integration and launch.
The position is based in Auckland, New Zealand, and is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in ambiguity and is excited to work in a small, high-performing team focused on continued learning and growth.
